Red Vein and Pigmentation Removal

HOW DOES IT WORK?

To destroy and clear the blood vessels, a short pulse of  light energy is released via the laser to the skin. This heats them up to the point where they clear and are reabsorbed by the body.

Due to the precision of the laser we can safely target only the pigmented lesions in the skin ie age spots, pigmentation etc without damaging any of the surrounding skin.

WHICH TYPE OF VEINS AND PIGMENT CAN WE TREAT?

The majority of red skin lesions, including facial thread veins, spider naevi and port wine stains, can be treated with great success. Some leg vessels can also respond well to treatment but we cannot treat varicose veins.

Benign pigmented lesions such as; age spots, sun damaged pigment, cherry spots and freckles can also be treated.

What we can’t treat –  moles, melasma, birthmarks and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

WHO IS SUITABLE FOR TREATMENT?

The majority of people are suitable although best results are often obtained for those with fair skin.  Treatment can only take place when there is no active or fake tan in the area to be treated.

HOW DOES THE TREATMENT FEEL?

Treatment can be mildly uncomfortable for some but the procedure is quite quick so bearable for most. Sensations vary but most clients describe it as a very quick hot pinprick.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

You may feel warmth in the treated area for a few hours. In some delicate, sensitive areas such as the cheeks a small amount of swelling and redness may occur but this is rare and normally only lasts 48hrs.  Very rarely, a small blister may form and there also could be a temporary lightening or darkening of the skin.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?

3 to 5 treatments are typically needed every 4 to 6 weeks to achieve optimum results, although small lesions may clear in just a single session.
